Johsel Namkung is a Seattle-based photographer whose time-tested photographic work is tremendous. Namkung uses a large format camera to capture the natural environment. I am drawn to his work, and appreciate his meticulous attention to detail.
Namkung reflected that his photography “is very strongly based on music. I find almost every time, when I see something, I always see melodic lines and counterbalancing forces, weight and harmony. So my photographs could always be interpreted through musical forms. I think photography is the reflection of things which already exist in their own right, but they need an artist so that they may be fully seen and understood by man.”
